NO EXCUSES!

Updated: Jun 6, 2022

ACTS 1 : 8.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

God's mission is unstoppable. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead makes our witness eminent and unstoppable.

The disciples were exposed to the mission and message of the Kingdom of God and yet on many occasions they derailed from the core of their faith in Christ.

This came about as they lost focus and gave many excuses for not doing what the Lord called them to do.

In the text beforehand, the disciples had lost their focus because the resurrection and ascension of Christ did not catch their attention and instead they concerned themselves with the restoration of the Kingdom of Israel? Vs.6.

The Lord then commanded them to remain in Jerusalem until they have received the power of the Holy Spirit and  then be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

The promise of the Holy Spirit who gives us power makes our witness unstoppable. Our obligation is to share Christ with anyone who can listen, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and we leave the results to God.

In Exodus 3:7-11, God saw the affliction of his people and called upon Moses to lead them from their slave masters. Listen to his response:

“But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

No amount of his excuses could change God's mission and the appointment of Moses to undertake that task as his witness. Prophet Jonah tried to run away from being a witness of God's salvation plan for the city of Nineveh and the power of The Lord caused him to be a witness against his will.

No amount of excuses will stop Christ's mission. It's unstoppable. The Lord has given us the Holy Spirit to give us power to be witnesses.Remember you will have to give an account to the Lord Jesus Christ when he comes to take us to our Heavenly Father.

Take note that : And God said, “I will be with you. Whatever shortcomings, do not fear, for God has said, " He is with you"

Choose today to be a witness for the Lord.

PRAYER.

Oh Lord, fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit that I may be bold to witness to your people for whom Christ died to save. Amen.
